Who is the Course Aimed At?

This course is designed for individuals working in the oil & gas industry, as a supplement to BOSIET, FOET, T-BOSIET, or T-FOET courses.

Course Goal

The goal of this course is to provide learners with an understanding of how escape chutes are used for tertiary escape from offshore installations and vessels and to offer practical training in the use of a typical escape chute used offshore.

Training Description

This course provides theoretical and practical training in the use of escape chutes, covering:

- Awareness of various types of escape chutes used on offshore installations and vessels

- Safe techniques for using an escape chute

- Understanding required actions when exiting the escape chute

- Practical exercises where each delegate will perform at least two escape chute descents, with one descent conducted while wearing a lifejacket

Qualifications Obtained

Upon successful completion, delegates will receive the OPITO Escape Chute Training certificate which authorizes them to work on offshore installations in the oil & gas industry.
