Target group

The Basic Safety Training (BST) is designed to provide personnel with the basic skills that will enable them to work in a safe manner in the wind industry and to meet emergency response training requirements for personnel new to the global wind industry. It is designed to accommodate personnel working both onshore and offshore.Target group is personnel working in the wind industry or related fields needing to refresh their GWO BST/BSTR First Aid module.

Prerequisites

Delegates must possess a valid BST or BSTR First Aid certificate.

Delegates participating in the Basic Safety Training must be demonstrably medically fit and capable of fully participating.

Objective

In the First Aid GWO refresher module Vulcan Training Center helps participants to review and build on previously gained knowledge and skills in a theoretical and practical training. In case of casualties First Aid knowledge of proper procedures, use of available equipment and normal functions of the human body and symptoms of illness or injury is essential. Proper practical exercises are a major part of this course.

The aim of this BSTR First Aid module is to review and build on previously gained knowledge and skills through theoretical and practical training.

Contents

All learning outcomes which are stated in the GWO BSTR Module First Aid

To include:

- Anatomy

- Life saving first aid (ABC)

- Use of AED

- Scenario based practical exercises

Exam

On successful completion of course content, delegates will be awarded a GWO Approved Fire Awareness Certificate which is valid for 24 months.

Refresher Training - To maintain validity delegates must attend the GWO Fire Awareness course again prior to the certificate expiring
