Course description

The GWO BTT Hazardous Energies Basic Safety (HEBS) module prepares participants to work safely in the vicinity of hazardous energy sources found in the wind industry. The training programme covers the identification of hazards arising from different forms of energy, including electrical, mechanical and hydraulic energy.

Participants learn the fundamental principles of working safely in the vicinity of hazardous energy sources, methods for identifying potential hazards and measures for reducing the associated risks. The course includes theoretical and practical sessions during which participants learn how to act appropriately while carrying out assigned tasks and how to recognise situations in which they should seek guidance or assistance.

The training increases participants’ awareness of hazards associated with hazardous energy sources and prepares them to carry out assigned tasks safely in the wind industry.

Course objective

The objective of the training is to prepare participants to carry out assigned tasks safely while working in the vicinity of hazardous energy sources in the wind industry. Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to identify the associated hazards, apply fundamental safe working principles and independently seek guidance or assistance when required.

Qualification awarded

GWO Basic Technical Training Hazardous Energies Basic Safety (HEBS) certificate.

Confirmation of course completion

Successful completion of the training will be registered as a new record in the GWO WINDA database. This enables employers to verify employees’ qualifications easily, helping to maintain high safety standards across the industry. Participants can also verify their qualifications worldwide without the need to carry paper certificates.

Please note that some companies may require additional or specialist training to meet their internal competency standards. Vulcan Training strongly recommends checking the specific competency and training requirements of the relevant operator before booking the course.
