Who is the Course Aimed At?

The training is intended for personnel working or preparing to work in the wind industry who, as part of their duties, may work in the vicinity of hazardous energy sources and require basic knowledge and skills to perform assigned tasks safely.

Training Description

The GWO BTT Hazardous Energies Basic Safety (HEBS) module prepares participants to work safely in the vicinity of hazardous energy sources in the wind industry.

The training programme covers the recognition of hazards associated with different forms of energy, including electrical, mechanical and hydraulic energy. Participants learn the basic principles of working safely in the vicinity of hazardous energy sources, how to identify potential hazards, and how to take appropriate actions to reduce the associated risks.

The training includes both theoretical and practical activities, during which participants learn how to act appropriately while performing assigned tasks and how to recognise situations in which they should seek guidance or assistance. The training increases awareness of hazards associated with hazardous energy sources and prepares participants to perform assigned tasks safely in the wind industry.

Course Goal

The aim of the training is to prepare participants to perform assigned tasks safely while working in the vicinity of hazardous energy sources in the wind industry. Upon completion of the training, participants will be able to recognise associated hazards, apply basic safe working principles, and seek guidance or assistance on their own initiative when required.

Qualifications Obtained

GWO Basic Technical Training Hazardous Energies Basic Safety (HEBS) Certificate.

Confirmation of Course Completion

Information regarding successful completion of the training will be entered as a new record in the GWO WINDA database. This allows employers to easily verify their employees’ qualifications, helping to maintain high safety standards within the industry. Participants can also easily demonstrate their qualifications worldwide without the need to carry paper certificates.

Please note that some companies may require additional or specialised training to meet their internal competency standards. Vulcan Training strongly recommends checking the specific competency or training requirements with the relevant operator before booking a course. While Vulcan can provide general guidance on training requirements in different geographical regions, additional training may be required depending on local or company-specific requirements.
