The OPITO OERTL Further certificate is valid for 2 years. Before the expiration date, it is necessary to take this course again to keep the credentials valid.

Who is the Course Aimed At?

This course is designed for current offshore rescue team leaders who need to refresh their OPITO OERTL Certificate and maintain their skills at the highest level to meet the safety and emergency response requirements of the oil and gas industry.

 

Course Goal

The goal of this course is to provide offshore emergency response team leaders with the opportunity to improve and refresh their skills in responding to offshore emergencies. The training is designed to improve efficiency and safety during emergency situations.

 

Training Description

In various training scenarios OPITO OERTL-F allows participants to hone their skills in a controlled environment. It  takes place at an onshore training center and includes:

- Updating and refreshing theoretical knowledge

- Practical exercises in responding to emergency situations that cannot be conducted at sea

- Additional practical training as OERTM, for those not working as OERTLs

 

Qualifications Obtained

- Effectively commanding a rescue team during offshore emergency situations.

- Planning, organizing and coordinating rescue operations.

- Assessing emergency situations and making decisions under time pressure.

- Communication and cooperation with other crew members and rescue teams.

- Practicing first aid and CPR skills.

- Applying evacuation and rescue procedures according to current standards.

- Safe use of rescue and safety equipment.

- Managing stress and maintaining calm in emergency situations.

- Conducting emergency response drills and training.

- Knowledge of regulations and procedures related to safety on oil rigs.

 

Confirmation of Course Completion

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate approved by the international organization OPITO, which authorizes them to work on offshore installations in the oil and gas industry.
