The OPITO HOIT certificate is issued for an indefinite period. However, further training may be required depending on specific company requirements and regional regulations.

Who is the Course Aimed At?

This training is designed for individuals who are to be appointed as an Offshore Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) and/or Offshore Helideck Assistant (HDA). HOIT is one of the training courses that prepares for these functions.

 

Course Goal

The purpose of the course is to equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively perform as an Offshore Helicopter Landing Officer (HLO) or/and Offshore Helicopter Assistant (HDA), upon completion of all required training by the employee. 

 

Training Description

The program covers the theoretical and practical aspects of managing helicopter operations on offshore platforms, with an emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

 

Qualifications Obtained

- Knowledge of helideck safety rules

- Ability to identify and assess risks associated with helicopter operations

- Practical skills in communicating with the helicopter crew

- Skills in coordinating helicopter takeoff and landing procedures

- Knowledge of emergency procedures and ability to apply them

- Ability to perform inspection and maintenance of the helideck

- Ability to work effectively with other members of the helideck team

- Knowledge of standard operating procedures and documentation related to helicopter operations

- Ability to respond to emergency situations and conduct evacuations

- Practical knowledge of resource and equipment management at the helideck

 

Confirmation of Course Completion

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate approved by the international organization OPITO, which authorizes them to work on offshore installations in the oil and gas industry.
