The course is valid for 2 years. Before expiration, to maintain the validity of acquired qualifications, participants must undergo the HERTM Further course.
Dedicated Course:
The target audience for the Crisis Response Team Training Program is personnel designated to the role of Helideck Emergency Response Team Member (HERTM).
Course Objective:
The objective of the Helideck Emergency Response Team Member (HERTM) training program is to equip crisis response personnel on Offshore Helidecks with the knowledge and skills required to fulfill the role of a member of the emergency response team on a helicopter deck and in emergency situations. The main goal of the training is for participants to fully understand the role and responsibilities of a Helideck emergency response team member and practice responding to various fire scenarios on the Helideck.
Description:
The HERTM training is an intensive program for aviation professionals, developing skills in managing helicopter emergency situations. Participants master techniques for emergency access, effective communication, firefighting, and responding to commands involving helicopters. The training also covers the use of breathing apparatus, search and rescue, and the effective use of firefighting systems. Through the practical and theoretical aspects of the course, participants are prepared to effectively operate in dynamic aviation crisis situations.
Qualifications Obtained:
- Upon completion of the training, the participant will possess knowledge in the following areas:
- Effective entry to and exit from the helicopter controls in emergency situations.
- Clear, concise, and effective communication with HERTL and team members during emergency operations.
- Systematic reporting of progress to HERTL in accordance with the crisis response plan.
- Proper selection of firefighting equipment according to HERTL's instructions.
- Effective response to emergency situations.
- Controlled approach to the incident area under HERTL's guidance.
- Continuous assessment of the emergency situation and its impact on the safety of other ERT members.
- Effective performance of tasks related to responding to crisis situations.
- Effective firefighting using the helicopter.
- Responding to helicopter engine fires using an extended CO2 applicator.
- Proper donning and use of breathing apparatus according to HERTL's instructions.
- Application of principles and techniques for effective search and rescue.
- Locating, extracting, and dealing with missing persons and victims in the helicopter area.
- Proper response to non-firefighting operations during a helicopter incident.
- Effective use of fixed, portable, and mobile firefighting systems.
- Reaction to NUI control room fires with limited firefighting equipment.
Course Completion Confirmation:
A certificate approved by the international organization OPITO, recognized worldwide, authorizing work on offshore installations, in the oil and gas industry.
