Who is the Course Aimed At?

This training is designed for Helideck Emergency Response Team Leaders, who need to refresh their qualifications. 

 

Course Goal

The training aims to maintain the validity of the certificate and refresh essential knowledge and skills for responding to emergencies on helidecks. Participants also gain skills in team management during emergency situations, with a focus on human factors and specific constraints related to Narrow Unmanned Installations (NUI).

 

Training Description

HERTL-F training focuses on the key skills required to plan and respond to a variety of emergency situations. The aim of the course is to refresh critical knowledge related to understanding the protocols and requirements for land and sea emergency landings, various emergency response systems including NUI, HERTL and the emergency response team on the helideck.

 

Qualifications Obtained

- Understanding the importance of thorough  initial planning and the key elements of emergency response requirements on helidecks.

- Recognizing the need for effective emergency response practice through both sea and land exercises.

- Gaining knowledge of various types of emergency response and control systems.

- Understanding how limited emergency response capabilities on Narrow Unmanned Installations (NUI) may affect helideck emergency responses.

- Understanding the roles and responsibilities of both HERTL and the emergency response team on the landing deck during a helicopter-related emergency.

- Identifying issues related to human factors in emergency situations and learning effective management strategies.

- Leading the Emergency Response Team through simulated emergency scenarios on the helicopter landing deck, including live fire situations, conducted in a safe and controlled environment.

 

Confirmation of Course Completion

Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate approved by the international organization OPITO, which authorizes them to work on offshore installations in the oil and gas industry.
