Course description
- Valid OERTM Initial Training certificate or a OERTM Further Certificate.
- Completion of the medical questionnaire provided during the training.
- Valid Identity document
The OERTM-F certificate is valid for 2 years. To keep and extend the validity of the certificate it is necessary to complete the OERTM Further course.
Who is the Course Aimed At?
This course is designed for current members of Emergency Response Teams who need to refresh their OPITO OERTM Certificate.
Course Goal
The goal of this course is to provide further practice, update knowledge and conduct emergency response training scenarios that cannot be performed at sea.
Training Description
OERTM Further training involves refreshing and updating emergency response knowledge and skills. The class is conducted at a training center on land and covers both theoretical and practical scenarios that cannot be performed at sea. It is part of a broader training program that includes specific training on the installation and vessel.
Qualifications Obtained
- Selection and correct use of appropriate firefighting equipment to extinguish various types of fires.
- Procedures for operating the breathing apparatus control board.
- Identifying and donning appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for emergency situations.
- Operating extended duration breathing apparatus.
- Participation as OERTM in various fire and non-fire incidents under the direction of the Offshore Emergency Response Team Leader (OERTL).
- Selection and use of portable firefighting equipment.
- Operating foam extinguishing equipment.
- Extinguishing different types of fires and securing the area.
- Effective communication with OERTL and other OERTMs during an incident.
- Key points and actions when entering and working in danger area.
- Proper search and rescue procedures and techniques.
- Steps for initial casualty assessment and their evacuation.
Confirmation of Course Completion
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate approved by the international organization OPITO, which authorizes them to work on offshore installations in the oil and gas industry.
