Training GWO ENHANCED FIRST AID

Requirements
To participate in the course, you must register in the Global Wind Industry (GWO) training records database, known as WINDA. The database allows employers and training providers to verify your qualifications.

Before attending the course, please visit winda.globalwindsafety.org to create your personal profile and obtain your individual WINDA ID.

Validity Extension
The Enhanced First Aid training certificate is valid for 2 years. Before the expiration date, the refresher course (GWO Ref. ENHANCED FIRST AID) must be taken to keep the credentials valid.

Who is the Course Aimed At?

This course is designed for individuals working in the wind industry who are required to undertake rescue operations using procedures that go beyond basic first aid and involve extensive medical equipment.

Training Description

The Enhanced First Aid training provides participants with essential knowledge and skills to deliver first aid in life-threatening situations such as massive hemorrhage, sudden cardiac arrest, trauma and other medical emergencies. Participants will learn communication and teleconsultation (remote medical consultation) procedures, as well as how to use the equipment necessary for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with airway management, supplying oxygen and using an AED. Practical scenarios will prepare participants to provide first aid in prolonged rescue operations and address the specific challenges of wind turbines located both onshore and offshore.

Course Goal

The goal of this course is to equip participants with knowledge and skills to work safely and responsibly in various challenging environments. This includes the ability to identify and minimize risks, properly use personal protective equipment, and efficiently perform emergency procedures to protect themselves and others in their environment.

- GWO Enhanced First Aid (EFA) Certificate

- GWO First Aid (FA) Certificate*

* Note: The GWO Enhanced First Aid training includes the GWO Basic Safety Training First Aid training.

Confirmation of Course Completion

The training completion information will be entered as a new record in the GWO WINDA database. This allows employers to easily verify the credentials of their employees, helping to maintain high safety standards in the industry. Participants can also easily prove their qualifications globally without needing to carry paper certificates.

Please note that some companies may require additional or specialized certification to meet their internal competency standards. Vulcan Training strongly recommends checking specific competency or training requirements with the operator before booking a course. While Vulcan can provide guidance on general certification requirements for various geographic regions, additional training may be necessary based on local or company-specific guidelines.
