Course description
To participate in the course, you must register in the Global Wind Industry (GWO) training records database, known as WINDA. The database allows employers and training providers to verify your qualifications.
Before attending the course, please visit winda.globalwindsafety.org to create your personal profile and obtain your individual WINDA ID.
- Valid identity document
The certificate obtained after completing the GWO Crane and Hoist Basic User module has no expiry date, provided the participant remains actively engaged in the wind industry. If the individual takes an extended break from crane and hoist-related work, refresher training may be required in accordance with national legislation and company policies.
Who is the Course Aimed At?
Personnel working in the wind industry (onshore/offshore) who carry out basic lifting operations using cranes and hoists.
Training Description
This course prepares participants to safely operate fixed cranes and hoists according to manufacturer documentation and applicable regulations. It includes theoretical and practical parts – from pre-operation setup to post-operation procedures.
Course Goal:
To equip participants with the skills needed to safely perform basic crane and hoist operations in a wind turbine environment.
Qualifications Obtained:
GWO Crane and Hoist (CHBU) Certificate
Confirmation of Course Completion
The training completion information will be entered as a new record in the GWO WINDA database. This allows employers to easily verify the credentials of their employees, helping to maintain high safety standards in the industry. Participants can also easily prove their qualifications globally without needing to carry paper certificates.
