Training Description
The GWO BST Onshore Online Training consists of the following modules, described below:
1. First Aid:
This course provides participants with basic first aid knowledge and skills. During the training, participants will learn how to secure a scene and intervene in critical situations, such as stopping massive hemorrhages, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), using an AED and dressing injuries. Practical scenarios will prepare participants to provide first aid in prolonged rescue operations and address the specific challenges of wind turbines located both onshore and offshore.
2. Fire Awareness:
This course provides fundamental knowledge of fire safety, including fire prevention. The module covers both theoretical aspects, such as fire groups, the combustion quadrangle, fire formation, and fire spread, as well as practical training in fire fighting scenarios using portable fire extinguishing equipment and evacuation in smoke conditions.
3. Working at Height:
This course provides comprehensive training for safely working at height using industrial access equipment. The training includes both discussion and practical exercises, such as use of fall protection equipment, evacuation procedures with rescue equipment and scenarios involving the rescue of an injured person from a ladder.
4. Manual Handling:
This course provides basic knowledge of safe manual labor, particularly focusing on load handling, use of hand tools, and performing work in constrained positions, along with associated hazards. Participants will learn methods of dynamic risk assessment and apply these methods through simulation scenarios.
Course Goal
The goal of this course is to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to work safely and responsibly in challenging environments. This includes the ability to identify and minimize risks, properly use personal protective equipment, and perform emergency procedures to protect themselves and their colleagues.
