Shoulder Measurements refers to the width of the shoulders
Shoulder measurement is essential for boarding and ensuring proper seating placement. It ensures safety and quick evacuation if needed.
In 2014, Step Change in Safety introduced a shoulder measurement strategy requiring all helicopter passengers to have their shoulder width measured by specially trained personnel. This ensures that passengers are seated closest to an evacuation point that matches their body size. Individuals with a shoulder width of 55.9 cm or more are classified as "Extra-Broad" (XBR), while those with a width below this are classified as "Regular." As of July 1, 2017, XBR passengers must be re-measured at regular intervals. It is recommended that these measurements coincide the BOSIET / FOET expiration date.
Our staff has qualifications granted by the British organization Step Change in Safety and is authorized to issue certificates signed by them.
