Valid Identification document.
The certificate is valid for 2 years and 8 months. Before the expiring date, to keep the credentials valid it is necessary to retake the OPITO Banksman & Slinger Initial Training course or, after meeting the appropriate conditions outlined in the OPITO Banksman & Slinger Assessment requirements, take the OPITO Banksman & Slinger Assessment training.
As of March 1, 2022, OPITO updated the training nomenclature:
Stage 1 - Initial Training
Stage 3 - Assessment
Stage 4 - Reassessment
Who is the Course Aimed At?
This course is designed for individuals seeking to work as Banksman or Slinger, particularly those looking to join the crew involved in lifting operations at sea and for those supervising such work.
Course Goal
The goal of the course is to prepare delegates for safe lifting operations with cranes. Participants will acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in lifting and moving various types of loads, as well as the essential principles for working with cranes.
Training Description
The introductory course is for individuals with no prior experience as a Banksman and Slinger. It covers fundamental knowledge of key actions, legal requirements, and safety principles essential for these roles. Participants will also gain basic practical skills necessary for performing as Banksman and Slinger.
Course Completion Confirmation
This certificate is approved by the international organization OPITO.
