In accordance with the provisions of the Energy Law, the SEP qualification exam fee may not exceed 10% of the minimum wage in effect on the date of application.


The training is open to all adults who wish to obtain SEP qualifications in operation and/or supervision. It is advisable for the participant to have basic technical knowledge and work experience in working with power equipment, although this is not a prerequisite. Proof of qualification or work experience will be required to take the exam.

The SEP qualification certificate is valid for 5 years from the date of issue. To renew it, you must retake the exam before the certificate expires​.

Our training course prepares you for the SEP qualification exam, which is required for individuals performing operation and supervision tasks involving electrical, thermal, and gas equipment, installations, and networks, in accordance with current legal regulations.

Training Description

The training includes both theoretical and practical parts, covering the following topics:

  • Structure and operation of energy devices, installations, and networks,

  • Safe operation procedures and technical requirements,

  • Basics of energy law and current regulations,

  • Health & safety rules, fire protection, and first aid,

  • Emergency response procedures,

  • Preparation for the oral qualification exam conducted by the certification commission​.

 

The training concludes with a qualification exam conducted by a Commission appointed by the President of the Energy Regulatory Office (URE).

Legal Basis

The training and qualification exam are based on the following legal acts:

 

  • The Act of 20 May 2016 on Investments in Wind Power Plants (Journal of Laws 2024, item 317), in particular Chapter 2a, which states that technical personnel performing service and maintenance activities in wind power plants must hold qualifications confirmed by a SEP qualification certificate, in accordance with Article 54 of the Energy Law Act.
  • The Energy Law Act of April 10, 1997 (Journal of Laws 2022, item 1385), in particular Article 54 concerning the verification of qualifications.

  • Regulation of the Minister of Climate and Environment of July 1, 2022 on the detailed rules for confirming the qualifications of persons engaged in the operation of equipment, installations, and networks (Journal of Laws 2022, item 1392).

  • Regulation of the Minister of Energy of August 28, 2019 on occupational safety and health when working with energy equipment (Journal of Laws 2019, item 1830).
