A seafarer recognized as fit to work on the ship as a result of a medical examination may be employed on board the ship. The seafarer's health is confirmed by a medical certificate issued in the form of a health certificate signed by an authorized physician. (Act of August 5, 2015 on sea work, Regulation of the Minister of Health of December 9, 2015 on the health conditions required of seafarers to perform work on a sea-going vessel)

The International Health Certificate (MEDICAL CERTIFICATE for service at sea) is issued to:

• for a period of 2 years
• in people under 18 years of age for a period of 1 year
• over 50 years of age, and if the health condition, according to an authorized physician, does not allow for the issuance of a health certificate for a period of 2 years, a health certificate may be issued for a period shorter than 2 years

WORK ON THE SEA

Necessary tests that you will do on site:

1. EKG (The patient is required to shave the chest in order to prepare the skin for attaching the electrodes) - price is 50,00 PLN

2. urine - general examination - price is 20,00 PLN

3. Audiometry - price is 80,00 PLN

The chest must be hairless in the places shown in the picture below (the hair should be SHAVED on the day of the examination or the day before).

TESTS that you must bring with you before the visit and issue of the International Health Certificate:

1. X-ray of the lungs (once every two years) can be performed in

TESTS to be performed before visiting the Medical Clinic:

NOTE - the following tests are available on-site at Vulcan Medical. For blood draws, please come at 8:00 a.m. and make your appointment with the doctor after 2:00 p.m.
