GWO approved Online Partial Refresher (BSTR-P) is conducted in cooperation with Vulcan Training & Consultancy Poland. By taking the training you can extend your expiring GWO BST certificates for 6 months if you are unable to attend the training due to COVID-19 restrictions. 

 

GWO – BSTR-P -Working at heights - duration 4 hrs

 

Aims and objectives:

The aim of BSTR-P is to reduce the risk of injury in the wind industry by reviewing, refreshing and building on previously gained knowledge and skills from GWO BST initial or refresher training.

The aims and objectives are achieved in a virtual online classroom through a combination of group discussions, individual explanations, theoretical and practical training that aim to enable the course participants to support and care for themselves and others working in the wind industry by being able to apply the knowledge skills and attitude of first aid, manual handling, fire awareness, working at heights and sea survival in their daily work and, in the case of an emergency, be able to evacuate, rescue and provide appropriate first aid to casualties..

COURSE PREREQUISITES:
The course participants shall have a personal course participant (delegate) profile in WINDA and provide their own WINDA ID prior to completing the BSTR-P training. Course participants shall possess valid GWO BST or GWO BSTR certificates or training records in WINDA for the relevant modules prior to attending BSTR-P training.

EQUIPMENT / Software/ Requirements:

Following Equipment/software will require to attend BSTR-P Online training

1. A computer, Tablet or mobile phone (can support Google Meet, if you are using mobile/tablet download and install Google Meet)

2. Gmail account

3. An internet connection with sufficient bandwidth and speed to allow two-way video conferencing

4. External web camera or built-in camera

5. External microphone or Built-in

HOW TO ATTEND TRAINING?

Once you book any module of BSTR-P training, a video link (Google Meet) will be shared with each delegate by Instructor 10 Minutes before the course start time.

 

You must have a Gmail account to login and join the online training. If you will be attending training by your mobile please download and install “Google Meet” on your mobile

Once you receive the link please click and login to your Gmail account and you will be directed to online training.

PLEASE NOTE INSTRUCTOR WILL VERIFY YOU IDENTITY BY ANY GOVERNMENT ISSUED ID, YOU WILL NEED TO SHOW YOUR ID, PASSPORT OR DRIVING LICENSE.

Instructor will share his computer screen in order to show you presentation and demonstrate where required in front of camera.

If you have any question during the training, please write your question down and ask during Question/Answer session.

Instructor will give chance to each delegate to ask question by mentioning name of participant in text box. 

 There is a requirement to have certain equipment for each module please ready below and make sure you have all equipment available for respective module while attending the training.

TRAINING EQUIPMENT REQUIREMNTS:

 

Assessment of the participants skills requires them to have the applicable equipment

available with which to demonstrate the skills. In order to facilitate this the participants

should be situated on a site

 

The instructor shall verify the skills in learning objective via a live video link. Demonstration of these skills will require the course participant to have this equipment available therefore the course participants should be on-site while performing these skills.

 

The following equipment is required by the course participants:

The following equipment is required by the course participant:

·        Full body harness

·        Work restraint lanyard

·        Fixed length fall arrest lanyard(s) with an energy absorber

·        Vertical fall arrest system and associated slider or glider

·        Resce device

·        Slings

·

Any equipment used during this GWO training module shall meet or exceed the minimum requirements of the national standards. When working in a country where there is no applicable national standard then the equipment shall meet or exceed the minimum requirements of the European standards

The European Standard for slings specifies safety requirements and test methods for slings used for mountaineering (slings are used as anchor points and since there are no industrial standard for slings, they must also comply with the requirements in EN795 type B, anchor devices)
