OPITO training is primarily targeted at people who plan or already work in the broadly understood offshore oil and gas industry - both on offshore installations, such as drilling or production platforms, as well as on vessels serving these installations.
The BOSIET + CA-EBS training is a basic, valid 4 years training for every new person in the industry. It includes HUET, Sea Survival, Fire fighting, first aid and safety induction. The BOSIET training is refreshed with the FOET training, in the window of three months before its expiry.
Due to the different requirements of the North Sea neighboring countries, Escape Chute training is recommended (this is an escape sleeve in the nomenclature used by IMO also called MES - Mass Evacuation Systems) for all people who plan to work in the Norwegian North Sea sector.
However, for people who are planning their work in the British North Sea sector, we recommend taking shoulder measurement - by employers called Shoulder Measurement or Bideltoid Shoulder Measuring. The measurement of the arms is needed for correct placement, especially for larger people at the right window size during transport by helicopter to the installation.
OPITO is a global non-profit organization that has defined training standards in the field of safety and preparation for work in industry since 1991 oil and gas (offshore).
Currently over 350,000 people each year (in 45 different countries and 200 accredited training centers) are trained in accordance with standardized standards OPITO security. The organization also cooperates with national governments oil companies, operators and contractors, offering a range of services and products meeting international needs supporting skills and employee development.
